Washington Campus HOW TO BUY A DIGITAL CAMERA 1 week - Wed. evening, Nov. 28, 7:00-9:00 PM Do you want to buy a digital camera but are confused by all the different types available on today’s market? This course is designed to help you decide which camera to buy for your needs or to give as a gift. In addition, you’ll learn what to look for in a digital camera, plus some basic steps to get you started taking good digital photos. OPERATING YOUR POINT AND SHOOT DIGITAL CAMERA 1 week - Sat. morning, Oct. 6, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM  In this brief course, you’ll learn the basics of operating your point and shoot digital camera. Learn how to use the camera’s menus and buttons to produce good photographs of your family and friends, including tips on taking good vacation photos. This is not a course for those with more advanced cameras. This short introductory course will help students to not only understand what digital photography is about but also will help them to compose interesting images using the simplest to more complex digital cameras. After creating images, they’ll learn how to edit them using simple photo editing programs via live on-screen demonstrations. DIGITAL TWO NEW 4-WEEK FORMAT! 4 weeks - Sat. mornings, Oct. 27-Nov. 17, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM $95 Now that you’ve learned the basics of digital photography, you may want to learn some advanced techniques. This short course is designed to help you learn about such advanced concepts as reading histograms, advanced tone control, digital dodging and burning, controlling noise, adding mood to your photos, quality of light, image stabilization, and digital SLR photography. To enroll in this course, you must take the basic course, Digital Photography for Beginners, first. Temple Ambler Campus WRITING MAGAZINE ARTICLES THAT SELL 3 weeks - Wed. evenings, Oct. 24-Nov. 14, 7:30-9:30 PM Do you want to learn to write articles for magazines that sell? Then this three-part workshop will show you how to choose a salable topic, focus it for the magazine’s readers, research it, use anecdotes and quotes to bring it to life, and finally, wrap it up in a neat professional package to send off to editors of consumer or professional magazines. Students will learn the basics of writing a feature article, including where to get an idea, developing the angle, interviewing techniques, making content interesting, and editing and revising.
