DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY I - Renamed and NOW 5 weeks!
5 weeks - Wed. evenings, Sept. 16-Oct. 21 (nc 10/7), 7:00-9:00 PM $155
Digital photography has only been around a few years, yet in that short time, it has revolutionized the way people see and record the world around them. This short introductory course will help students to not only understand what digital photography is about but also will help them to compose interesting images using the simplest to more complex digital cameras. After creating images, they’ll learn how to edit them using simple photo editing programs via live on-screen demonstrations.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY II
4 weeks - Wed. evenings, Oct. 28-Nov. 18, 7:00-9:00 PM $145
Now that you’ve learned the basics of digital photography, you may want to learn some advanced techniques. This short course is designed to help you learn about such advanced concepts as reading histograms, advanced tone control, digital dodging and burning, controlling noise, adding mood to your photos, quality of light, image stabilization, and digital SLR photography. To enroll in this course, you must take the basic course, Digital Photography I, first, or have taken one elsewhere.

CREATIVE DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP NEW!

Expand your digital photography skills by learning to use your camera’s features creatively in this hands-on workshop. Learn to control your camera and use advanced effects while going beyond auto settings to create stunning, artistic photographs suitable for framing as you spend time photographing with the group on location and on your own.

Good writing depends on accurate and keen observation. You will be taught to make your writing--either fiction or non-fiction--come alive with creative techniques. By being taught to see differently, use your senses more accurately, set a mood, use people more effectively, handle conversation, and create a point of view, you'll learn the tools that you can use not only to express yourself but also to communicate successfully with others.

Learn how to write and distribute press releases that can help promote your products and services or organizational events. Find out about selecting story angles, understanding standard formatting, traditional and alternative distribution methods, and using keywords for online distribution.

WRITING YOUR FAMILY HISTORY
3 weeks - Thurs. evenings, Nov. 5 - 19, 7:15-9:15 PM $85
Every family has a history. But writing about that history can be a daunting task. You’ll learn how to begin gathering information, how to catalog what you find, how to organize your family’s history, and how to produce a finished product using your computer.
